Itinerary:
WOLF RIDGE – Horse Riding 3Hours
From the horse farm we will head north along a solid forest road through the valley, reaching a mountain saddle where we will check for signs of wolf tracks. From there, we will continue south along a wooded ridge, carefully observing wolf presence and habitat traces along the way.
The route passes through a clearing with beautiful views over the Driečna Valley, where we will take a short break for refreshments and talk about wolves, their behavior, and forest conservation.
The hike then continues through the forest, returning via open meadows back to the village, offering a perfect combination of wildlife tracking, nature education, and scenic landscapes.
WOLF TRAIL – Horse Riding 5Hours
Our journey begins with a scenic ride north through the valley into the heart of the Eastern Carpathians. We will reach a mountain pass and then follow the yellow hiking trail leading to the Beskyd Saddle, one of the most beautiful viewpoints in this remote region of Slovakia.
From there, we continue towards Beskyd Mountain and connect to a cycling route descending into the peaceful Driečna Valley. Along the way, we cross a stunning Carpathian meadow, where we will take a longer break and allow the horses to graze.
This meadow is also a special spot where we can share our own unforgettable experience of encountering wolves in the wild — making this tour a truly authentic wolf tracking adventure in Slovakia.
After resting, we return to the saddle and continue along the Driečna ridge, heading south while searching for signs of wolf presence, tracks, and other wildlife activity in their natural habitat.
We will make another short stop with panoramic views over the valley, enjoy refreshments, and then ride back through forests and open meadows to the village, completing this unique horseback riding and wildlife tour in the Carpathian Mountains.
FRONTIER TRAIL – Horse Riding 2 Days
We set off early in the morning from a small horse farm in Stropkov District to make the most of our 2-day horseback riding and wolf tracking tour in the Eastern Carpathians. Our route heads south, crossing a stream and riding up through scenic meadows. We enter the forest and continue along the ridge between Miroľa and Suchá, occasionally navigating overgrown paths, so attention to low branches is needed.
We reach the Príkranské meadows, and depending on our timing, we may take a short detour to visit the wooden church in Príkre. From there, we return through meadows and forested areas.
There are two overnight options: camping at the edge of the forest meadow or staying in our cozy cabin. The horses will be secured in a paddock in the village overnight.
The next morning, we continue our horseback tour. Depending on how your body feels after the first day, we can choose a shorter or longer route — the pace and distance are flexible.
The main goal is to enjoy two unforgettable days in nature, on horseback, and experience the wild beauty of the Eastern Carpathians. On this tour, we follow the wolf ridge between Driečná and Suchá, returning through meadows and forest paths, keeping an eye out for wildlife and wolf tracks along the way.
